The opening ceremony of Seminar on Geographic Information Science of Venezuela in 2018 was held in Shanghai on 20th June, which is Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by CIFAL Shanghai International Training Center.
Firstly, Deputy Division Chief of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Mr. Li Zhen delivered the speech on behalf of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. He expressed the warm welcome to the participants,shared the development and application prospects of geographic information with participants, and introduced the history, development situation of Shanghai, and the successful applications of geographic information in the urban management in Shanghai. At the last, Mr. Li hoped to bring some inspirations for participants in promoting the development of geographic information and application in Venezuela by this seminar.
Mrs. Leisbeth Coromoto Berríos León,Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuelain Shanghai attended and delivered opening speech. Firstly, she was particularly grateful to the Ministry of Commerce of China, Shanghai Municipal Commissionof Shanghai and CIFAL Shanghai. She recalled the profound friendship between China and Venezuela, hoped all participants to remember the spirit of Venezuelaand bring the achievements of this seminar back to the country. Finally, Consul-general quoted a poem from Bolivar, a pioneer of American Revolution, to encourage all in opening ceremony.
Director of Cifal Shanghai, Mr. Wang Genxiang delivered the speech on behalf of CIFAL Shanghai. He expressed the warm welcome to the participants and indicated that the CIFAL Shanghai paid great attention to the seminar.CIFAL Shanghai will provide the abundant activities and the best service to all participants in this seminar.
Mr. William Jesús Rincones Azavache, General Director from Ministry of Planning of Venezuela delivered the speech on behalf of all participants to express the sincere gratitude to Ministry of Commerce of China and CIFAL Shanghai for the meticulous work.
All the guests and participants took a group photo for a precious memory. The opening ceremony was hosted by Ms. Wang Kemin, Deputy Director of CIFAL Shanghai. Totally 24 officials and experts from the Ministry of Planning of Venezuel , Institute of Geography and Academy of Geography of Venezuela were attended.
