UN Learning Tour

 

The UN Study Tour Project was launched by CIFAL Shanghai with an overall goal to promote the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals among youths. The project obtained guidance and support from UNITAR.

On September 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda at the United Nations Summit in New York. The agenda covers 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which came into effect on January 1, 2016. Over the next 15 years, with these new Goals that universally apply to all, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.

On September 25, 2018, Youth 2030:  the United Nations Youth Strategy was launched at United Nations Headquarters in New York during the 73rd UN General Assembly, aiming to enhance the role of 1.8 billion young people from age 10 to 24 in driving global efforts to promote a peaceful, just and sustainable world.

The "United Nations Sustainable Development Goals" Youth 2030 Changemaker Seminar is for outstanding young people across the country to step in and learn about the United Nations. During which, the youth shall learn about the 2030 Global Sustainable Development Goals and the role of international organizations in realizing the Goals, understand the actions taken by young people around the globe in promoting the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals, explore China’s contribution to Sustainable Development and as a youth in China how to carry out actions with Chinese characteristics to achieve global Goals, share their ideas and opinions through planning and presentations during team work, actively respond to the United Nations "Youth 2030" strategy, and lead more young people to engage in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals with innovations and actions.
