30 Jul 2014 Smart City Public Lecture IX “The Pivotal Role of Internet in the Development of Smart City”was delivered in Shanghai Science Hall, with 69 participants from governmental officials, private sectors, public institutions, academic institutions, colleges and universities.

In the lecture, Mr. LIU Rong, Deputy Director of Sales Department, HUAWEI Technology Co. ,Ltd. , consultant expert in smart city development presented the lecture shared with the public the future of and the correlation between internet and smart city, risk of internet, illumination and judgment. The lecture was enlivened by case study of Shanghai smart city development and accomplishment and concluded with an Interaction session.

Smart City Public Lecture IX was sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Shanghai Association for Science & Technology, Shanghai Smart City Promotion Center, Shanghai Science Hall, and HUAWEI Technology Co. ,Ltd.

Through the ten one-day monthly public lectures in the form of case studies and interactive discussions, the Smart City Series has gained well reputation from the public.
