The 4th SAMA International Forum & 2019 “Belt and Road” 3D printing and Intelligent Manufacturing Annual Conference convened successfully
SHANGHAI, August 16, 2019, guided by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of economic and informatization, Development & Construction management committee of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lin-gang Special Area, jointly organized by Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association (SAMA), Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center (SAMIC), Shanghai 3D printing high skilled talents training base, the grand opening of the 4th SAMA International Forum & 2019 “Belt and Road” 3D printing and Intelligent Manufacturing Annual Conference were held in Crowne Plaza Shanghai Harbour City. Nearly 100 global experts, industry leaders and over 800 private sector representatives from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Korea, Singapore, Israel, Sweden, Egypt, India, Czech Republic and other countries/ regions attended the conference to discuss the development of Intelligent Manufacturing and 3D Printing industry, as well as to display and exchange views about the application of 3D printing technology in aerospace, biomedical, automobile, mould, literary creation, film and television, consumer goods and other fields.
Dr. Raymond Tavares, Industrial Development Officer of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Mr. WANG Genxiang, Director of Shanghai Global Science and Technology Innovation Center (SGSTIC) of UNIDO, and Mr. WU Yugang, Director of Shanghai International Intelligent Manufacturing Promotion Center (SIIMPC) of UNIDO, were invited to attend the conference.
In his speech, Mr. Raymond TAVARES pointed out that the mission of UNIDO is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States. There is a wealth of information and statistics which clearly indicates that the global industrial sector is currently undergoing a “New Industrial Revolution”. In a nutshell this revolution more commonly referred to as Industry 4.0 can be characterized by the rapid integration of technological developments (such as 3D printing, AI, Big Data, IoT etc.) with many key industrial activities.
Mr. WANG Genxiang, Director of SGSTIC chaired the summit dialogue on the development of intelligent manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta. Mr. GU Changshi, Chief Planner of Development & Construction management committee of Pilot Free Trade Zone Lin-gang Special Area, Mr. ZHU Xiaohai, Deputy Governor of Xiangcheng District of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Mr. LIU Xingrong, Deputy Governor of Fanchang Countyof Wuhu City, Anhui Province, Mr. DING Feng, Deputy Manager of Lingang Park, Minhang Development Zone, Mr. XU Junhai, General Manager of Industry Development Department of Cisco (China) and Ms. GAO Shanqing, Consultant of Technical Planning Department of Mitsubishi Motor Automation (China) participated as guest speakers.
The participants had a fruitful discussion on:key paths/ benefits/ risks of upgrading the traditional manufacturing industry towards intelligent manufacturing Industry; government measures to accelerate the healthy development of the intelligent manufacturing industry; and ways for intelligent manufacturing industry of the Yangtze River Delta achieving collaborative innovation and integrated development.
