Lasted for 2 months, the closing ceremony for the fourth China’s Foreign Aid Training Course of 2011, “Training Course on Information Technology Application for Developing Countries”, which was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and organized by CIFAL Shanghai, was held in Shanghai Kaibo Hotel on 22nd December. All on the agenda had been completed with the efforts made by the participants and the hard work by the staff.

Mr. Chen Yuehua, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and officials and directors from Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and CIFAL Shanghai attended the closing ceremony and made speeches to congratulate the great success achieved by the class, the accomplish of the training and the excellent performance gained by the participants, and then awarded them the certificate of completion and presents. Mr. Walid Kassim Mohammed Al-kharusy from Calumet Institute of Science & Technology of Zanzibar, made a statement stood for all participants to express their thankfulness to Chinese government for the training provided for developing countries, and also to the staff of CIFAL Shanghai for their hard working. He indicated that he would strive to promote and strengthen the unity and friendships, the collaborations and communication between developing countries and China, and contribute to the economic construction and social development in developing countries.

The training course was the last one presented by CIFAL Shanghai in 2011. To ensure the success of the training course, and also to give a perfect conclusion to the China’s foreign aid work of CIFAL Shanghai, the staff highly valued it, spared no pains to have it well prepared, and all sections were specially in charge by certain persons to do the job well. The training course was on the theme of “information technology application”, and through the three combinations as “classroom learning combined with visiting, expert lectures combined with discussions, and case study combined with appraises”, the participants were able to learn the theory and knowledge progressively by different forms and contents. The class visited many excellent IT enterprises as Shanghai Pudong Software Park, China Mobile Showroom, Jiangsu Hengtong Group and Zhejiang Eastcom, to further expand the thought and vision of the participants, deepen the understanding of “information technology application”, and enable them to learn the professional knowledge of information security, cloud computing, software development and testing, the internet of things and mobile technology. On the country reporting conference, the participants actively joined to use the knowledge gained to made presentation and discussion, so that they could share the experience and achievements. Various visits and learning gave the class opportunities to learn the newest achievement in the field of information technology application in China, and to see the newest developing trends. The training course was warmly welcomed and appreciated.
