In China, foreign aid began in 1950. Since the founding of People’s Republic of China, China is committed to its development as well as adhering to other developing countries assistance and undertake international obligations. Chinese government strengthens their self-development capacity to help recipient countries, and has paid more attention to foreign aid for a long time. In the recent years, China has also increased working efforts. So far, there are nearly 100,000 officers, management and technical personnel come to China to have training courses.
CIFAL is honored to be a member of the foreign aid training career in our country. With guidance and strong support of Department of Aid to Foreign Countries, Department of Finance, overseas Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office, Training Center of Ministry of Commerce and other relevant units, CIFAL comprehensively enhances effectiveness and validity of foreign aid training. Also, CIFAL focuses on scientificalness and standardization of training management and tries to strengthen management capacity and implements capacity building. To complete the task of foreign aid training successfully, CIFAL achieves good results in project management.
Since the beginning of 2009, CIFAL has hosted a total of seven periods’ foreign aid training programs, among which two multilateral official training seminars, four technical training classes, four bilateral official seminars are held. 314 people that come from 83 countries are trained, which including 73 officers and 241 technical staff. The number of trainees is 141 from Asia, 110 from Africa, 40 from South America and Caribbean Area, 7 from South Pacific and 18 from Europe.
During the training, CIFAL organized and arranged many activities for trainees, including courses studies, enterprise visits, city tours and so on. These activities had got great appreciation by the trainees. During the process of visit and inspection, CIFAL made connection between Chinese enterprises and trainees to promote bilateral cooperation projects. At the same time, CIFAL actively publicized China’s successful experiences, strove to promote cooperation and strengthen communication. On trainees’ life, CIFAL had prepared contingency plans, quickly handled emergencies, devoted for trainees, and provided considerate services to enhance understanding between trainees, meanwhile, to deepen the friendship between China and all developing countries.
